My latest creation is one I have been wanting for many years … a perpetual countdown to Christmas.
This calendar is one of the wood designs from KaiserCraft. If you have been following me for a while, you know how much I love their wood projects. They come in pieces so they are easy to cover and I glue them all together with Art Glitter’s Designer Dries Clear Adhesive. I have several shelves and boxes that I have made with these kits and they have survived years of use.
Anyhow, this one I covered with brand new papers from Anna Griffin. I have always loved her designs, but few stores seem to carry them. Now that I have my own store (of sorts), I ordered them.
The tree is covered in a silver print filled with ferns, leaves and greenery. As an accent, I used a cream-colored snowflake print in gold and silver.
And, because my husband insisted that Christmas projects be red and green, I added a bit of green holly paper to the base and the blocks.
Anna Griffin didn’t create any new red papers that I wanted to use, so I opted for a textured red cardstock to finish it off.
I used my Cricut to cut out the numbers and a combination of Tim Holtz dies and Martha Stewart punches to create the accents.
Of course, I also used a bit of paint, lace, ribbon and Stickles to make it really sparkle.
Wouldn’t you like to have one of your own?! You can! I am offering this as a class at Green Door Studio or as a kit with step-by-step instructions and photos.
However, I only have 6 kits available, so let me know as soon as possible if you are interested!
