It’s no secret that I am a huge fan of Tim Holtz. I love the thought process that goes into making his products — and the ideas he shares to use them after we get them.
That said, you can understand how last week was one of my favorite weeks of the year. I loved the lessons and inspiration he put into his 12 Tags of Christmas.
Although I haven’t had time to try all of the techniques, yet, I did make a custom stamp pad with Distress Ink Re-inkers and Cut & Dry Felt. I even tried embossing after stamping with Distress Ink for a unique “looks wet” sort of look. Here’s the link to Tim’s instructions ...
And, here’s what I did …
Pretty cool, eh?! And, it came out perfect on the first attempt — which is even cooler.
Since rubber stamps are my latest favorite product, I am challenging myself to use them on scrapbook pages. It sounds simple, but it really is more difficult than one would think. So, this was my first attempt at incorporating stamps into scrapbook pages. The paper and ribbon are by Bo Bunny. The stamps are by Tim Holtz and JudiKins. The date is grungeboard letters by Tim Holtz, painted with a Ranger Paint Dabber. (Click on the images to make them larger).
If you notice the date, you will realize why I need to make myself incorporate my new love of stamping into my scrapbook pages!

The dies may cut Grungepaper, if you have a Big Shot. They may need to go through a couple of times. (I have not had as good of success with the Cuttlebug.)
They will not cut Grungeboard.

Thanks for your response. I am also a fan of Tim Holtz and I am wondering if the Cheery Lynn Designs dies will cut Tim’s Grungeboard and Grungepaper? I did go to their site, and purchased the die set that you used to make the Holiday Banner. I have never used anything except Spellbinders, and one PTI die. Like them both, but I for one am happy to see a company bringing some competition to SB’s. Thanks for the referral and link.

I should have added that I have not tried this specific Nesting Die with Grungepaper, but I have cut Grungepaper with some of their other dies.
You might want to use a Removeable Glue Dot or small piece of tape to hold the Grungepaper in place, because you will likely have to cut a couple of times to make it work.

Hi Candy, I have just spent considerable time looking through your blog posts. Great work. The snow book for your Son was especially cute. The reason I found your blog was an e-mail from Glue Dots in this mornings “mail”. By the way, could you, as their team member, kindly suggest that they make a post like this, (full of Christmas ideas) say maybe in early November, even late October? Several of the ideas shown today would be great craft show items. Those events have pretty much run their course in my area.
Anyway, my real reason for commenting was to tell you how grateful I am to find your post of the Christmas Banner you made using the Graphic 45 papers. I have been looking high and low for something that caught my eye to make as Christmas gifts for my friends and neighbors. Finally!! The finances at our home this Christmas are really tight, so I will be making everything. Thank you so much for the great photos, detailed instructions, and products used lists. I cannot wait to get started. I wish you and your family a Blessed Christmas.
